U seriji se radi o dvoje debelih ljudi iz Chicaga koji se upoznaju i zaljube na sastanku “overeaters anonymousa”.On je policajac, ona učiteljica i oboje imaju zajedničku strast-HRANU! Ono što nam ulijeva nadu da ovo neće biti potpuni trainwreck jest glumačka postava (Melissa McCarthy, Swoozie Kurtz) te činjenica da iza serije stoji Chuck Lorre, tvorac Big Banga. Istina, Lorre je također i tvorac Two and a Half Mena, no nadajmo se da će Mike & Molly po kvaliteti ipak više sličiti Big Bangu.
