Radnja serije se vrti oko četiri senatora koji zajedno žive u iznajmljenoj kući u Vašingtonu, tokom zasedanja Kongresa. Tu se osećaju sigurno i raspravljaju o važnim pitanjima, bez straha od prisluškivača. Ali prebivalište senatora postaje poznato dopisničarki čuvenih novina. Ona ulazi u Alfa kuću prerušena u sobaricu i lako okriva tajne senatora. Zadatak joj je da te tajne ne koristi samo za svoju, već i za dobrobit društva.
